Pixacom: Where were you born, and how was life growing up?
Adree DeSanti: I grew up in Kearny, NJ. I lived there up until I moved away to college at Rutgers University. It was great, everyone knew eachother and there was alot to do within walking distance. Sports were big so I participated in the rowing team and cheerleading. I also did theater and musicals throughout highschool. We were a train ride from NYC and would go all the time, and close enough to the beaches to enjoy the summers.
Pixacom: What nationality are you?
Adree DeSanti: I am a mix of Italian/Czech/Welsh. People can never put their finger on what I am, I get very varied guesses. I guess I like having a unique look that is all my own.
Pixacom: What would the average person say about you?
Adree DeSanti: That I am very ambitious and a work-a-holic. I have always been a "go getter" and pride myself on being a very career driven women. Its nice to give younger girls a sense of indepedence and realize you can do well, make money, keep your morals in tact and make a nice living for yourself without the help of a man. Im a big girl power type of woman
Pixacom: What kind of stuff did you get into after high school?
Adree DeSanti: I went away to college at Rutgers University for four years and got my majorin Journalism & Media Studies as well as minors in Philosophy and Psychology. I joined a sorority (Sigma Delta Tau) and did cheerleading my freshman year. I then went on to work with companies like VH1, MTV, and then now in the radio industry.
Pixacom: How did you get into modeling?
Adree DeSanti: Ive been taking pictures my whole life, but only really started to focus on it more seriously the last 2 years. Ive been in many model searches and won them to my surprise and thought "hey now that my life is in order let's do it!" so I started to do some photoshoots, then got my big break landing an issue in STUFF magazine and from tehre I've been doing more magazines, campaigns, shoots, etc.
Pixacom: How long have you been modeling?
Adree DeSanti: Again, my whole life but more seriously over the last two years
Pixacom: How did you feel being in front of the camera for the first time?
Adree DeSanti: I loved it. Coming from a background of being on stage in theater and musicals I always loved being in the forefront. Performing is in my blood. My dad is a singer and from as young as I can remember I've been in the spot light, whether it was doing talent shows, or big performances, I just loved it. So modeling is fun for me, I love that feeling
Pixacom: How did you feel walking into your photoshoot?
Adree DeSanti: Excited, anxious, and giddy.
Pixacom: So would you say you are comfortable now?
Adree DeSanti: Ive always been comfortable, but more so now yes because I am more aware of the ins and outs of the business.
Pixacom: Are you comfortable with your body?
Adree DeSanti: Now I am. Everyone has things they'd like to improve or adjust. We are human. There are days I wake up and say "ugh i feel fat" or "bad hair day" but you get over it. You learn what works for you, you cant compare yourself to others, because if we all looked the same the world would a damn boring place.
Pixacom: What’s the best thing about modeling?
Adree DeSanti: Being able to be someone else for a few hours, just to go in your mind and portray an emotion or feeling, and essentially just escape. Its also fun to have your hair and make up done and wear sexy clothes, and pay never hurts!
Pixacom: What do you do to set yourself apart from other models?
Adree DeSanti: I dont focus on setting myself apart from other models, I let my pictures speak for themselves. Everyone has something different to offer. I bring a fun and creative perspective to all my shoots, I do all of my own wardrobe styling which is always interesting. I study magazines and other model's portfolios and take things away from every outlet to put together new looks. Im always evovling and definitly a work in progress.
Pixacom: Where do you hope your modeling will take you?
Adree DeSanti: Who knows, Ive done very well for myself in the last two years, landing over 15 magazines and huge campaigns, making some good money and great contacts. I just have fun with it, when its no longer fun I'll give it up. But more magazines and more travel will be nice.
